Abama Golf and Spa Resort wins first Michelin star

Great news from the ABAMA Golf and Spa Resort is that KABUKI, the resort’s signature Japanese Restaurant has been awarded its first Michelin Star.

The Kabuki restaurant

Abama Kabuki, the Canary Island outpost of the Madrid-born Japanese fusion concept was awarded its first Michelin star based on the quality, mastery of technique, personality and consistency of its food.

The Kabuki concept was developed by chef Ricardo Sanz in 2000 with the Kabuki Restaurant in Madrid. The concept
was a result of his creative development of tapas combined with his training by the Japanese culinary master Masao Kikuchi.

Ricardo Sanz opened his second Kabuki at Abama in 2006 followed by a third in Madrid in 2007 – Kabuki Wellington. All Kabuki restaurants now hold Michelin stars.

ABAMA is now the only resort in Spain with two Michelin Star Restaurants, the other being the MB restaurant.
