      Rondavel Room: Located on the western side of the island, The Rondavel rooms are located in octagonal-shaped cottages featuring wrap-around terraces with views of the Caribbean Sea.       Rondavel Suite: Located in Jumby Bay’s traditional Rondavel cottages, these elegant suites feature a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a private outdoor garden with a rain shower.       Villas and Estate Homes: 2, 3 or 4 bedroom villas include a large designer kitchen, outdoor showers and private swimming pools on the upper level and a living room that opens onto a terrace.       Jumby Bay Explorers  – 3 to 11 years

      The children’s pavilion is Jumby Bay’s headquarters for fun, games and discovery. The dedicated program for 3 to 11-year-olds provides a host of opportunities for outdoor excitement and creative expression, including Little Chefs, Wildlife and Ocean Adventures, Discover Science, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dance and Sing, and Day at the Beach.

      Teen Activities – 12-17 years

      Dedicated activities for teenagers include mixed volleyball on the beach, mocktail mixing classes, paddleboard and water ski lessons, tennis clinics, nighttime constellation explorations and seasonal turtle walks with the turtle team.

      Hawksbill Turtle Progamme: Rose Buds Camp Jumby offers a unique opportunity for children to take an active part in the island’s conservation efforts. Under the direction of specialist researchers young guests can experience a turtle nesting on Pasture Bay Beach, and participate in the release of hatchlings into the sea.They can also “adopt” one of the endangered turtles and track its progress through the summer nesting season. Kids will receive an adoption certificate along with regular updates on their turtle’s progress posted on Jumby Bay’s Facebook page. While at the resort, they can learn more through interactive presentations, quizzes, arts, crafts and games that bring the hawksbill program to life.

      Junior Spa Menu: Dedicated treatments for guests aged 4-16 include Beach Bliss mani and pedicures, mini massage and facial treatments, braiding and hair wraps.

      Nannies and Babysitting: Available on request, 24-hour notice is recommended. Approx. $20 USD per hour for up to two related children for a minimum of three hours. Daily and weekly rates available on request. (Please check prices with us).

      Children’s Menus: Offered at all restaurants and for in-room dining.     • Restaurants: Fresh, local ingredients and international influences inspire the menus at Jumby Bay. The Caribbean style open-air Verandah restaurant and Bar boasts panoramic views and offers a relaxed ambiance for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea and hosts the weekly Jumby Bay Island Beach party. Overlooking the infinity pool, the Pool Grille and Bar is open for al fresco breakfasts, casual lunches, snacks and cocktails whilst authentic West Indian food can be sampled at the Beach Shack. Set directly on the sands of Jumby Bay Beach, the thatched Beach Bar serves refreshing cocktails, fruit sorbets, ice-creams, sandwiches and frappuccino’s.

      Private Beaches: The island features three stunning white sand beaches. The resort’s iconic half mile stretch of beach is lined with thatched bohios for shady relaxation and hammocks strung between palms.

      Swimming Pools: Aside from the private pools in the Villas, Estate homes and Pool suites, there are two communal pools at Jumby Bay. The 25m Verandah pool includes four lap lanes and is surrounded by gardens and sun loungers and is suitable of families with children. The stunning lagoon shaped infinity pool appears to blend seamlessly into the Caribbean Sea and is a designated “quiet pool” with attendants on hand to offer chilled towels, iced fruit, home made sorbets and pre-loaded iPods for the ultimate relaxation.

      Spa: The Spa features five spa suites including a duet suite, complete with individual showers and personal relaxation terraces with breathtaking sea views. Treatments integrate native ingredients grown in Jumby Bay such as sugar cane, molasses, spices and rum and include bamboo massage, exfoliation and facials in addition to manicures, pedicures and hair salon services.

      Other Activities: Jumby Bay is a playground for watersports enthusiasts of all levels offering waterskiing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and snorkeling with attendants on hand to provide lessons if required. The resort also has a fully equipped state-of-the-art fitness centre and qualified trainers can design bespoke training programmes.

      Tennis: The Jumby Bay Tennis Club comprises three courts, two of which can be floodlit. Director of Tennis and resident pro, Jerry Williams, is a Davis Cup veteran, and has played with the world’s top-ranked players, including Steffi Graf, Chanda Rubin and Mary Pierce, all of whom have been guests at Jumby Bay. Racquets and balls are provided. Tennis lessons, Round Robin tournaments and junior clinics (seasonal) are also available.

      Kiteboarding In Jabberwock Bay – Jabberwock Bay a beautiful National Park on the North Coast of Antigua and is a renowned kiteboarding location. Whatever your level, the sandy, shallow areas which drop off into deeper waters make it a prime destination for kite boarders to perfect their techniques.

      Stingray City – An interactive eco-tour where visitors can swim and play with Southern Stingrays in a safe and controlled environment. Located in the calm waters of Mercers Creek Bay, 15 minute from Jumby Bay’s dock, is a natural home to more than 30 Southern Stingrays as well as countless colorful tropical fish and stunning species of corals. With waters shallow enough for visitors to stand up in, guests can explore marine life to their heart’s content. No experience is needed; guests do not even need to be able to swim to participate.

      Shopping in St. John’s Charter – Take a charter boat trip to St. John’s, Antigua, melting pot of architectural styles, shops and street vendors.

    • When to Travel

      With warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. The peak season runs from December through to April with an average of 9 hours sunshine per day. This is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months with an increase in rainfall and humidity as the summer season goes on, however the summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. September and October are usually the wettest months with the most humidity and these are also the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region. The average daily temperatures range from approx. 25C in the winter to approx. 28C in the summer.

      How to get there:

      British Airways and Virgin Atlantic operate direct 9 hour flights from London Gatwick to V.C Bird International Airport in the North East of Antigua.  Alternatively Thomas Cook Airlines fly from Manchester, UK on Thursdays from December to April. It is approximately 5 minutes by private car from V.C.Bird International airport to the resort’s dock followed by a 10 minute boat ride on the resort’s private catamaran to reach Jumby Bay Island.
