    • The Nonsuch Bay effortlessly demonstrates the beauty of Antigua. Situated on the east coast of the charming Caribbean island, the resort receives a divine climate, not to mention the spectacular scenic views looking out across the Caribbean Sea. The bay is fortunate in having two-square miles of enclosed waters – thanks to a natural barrier reef – keeping the waters calm and perfect for water sports and sailing.

      The Nonsuch Bay resort offers a choice of accommodation style, including fully-serviced Suites (1-3 bedrooms), beach cottages (1-3 bedrooms) and hilltop villas (3-5 bedrooms). The resort’s accommodation design has taken inspiration from traditional island architecture and features large living spaces, high ceilings and contemporary furnishings. Every accommodation type looks out across the bay and out towards the neighbouring, uninhabited islands.

      Ensuring that all guests can make the most of the bay’s naturally calm waters, there are a number of water sports and activities available to visitors of all abilities and ages, including sailing, kitesurfing, catamaran trips and snorkeling. It’s even possible to explore some of the uninhabited islands across the bay. For the less adventurous, the resort also features three infinity edge pools, as well as offering an in-room spa service.

      Children are made to feel more than welcome at the resort, with an abundance of activities for youngsters to get their teeth stuck into. Highly-trained professionals are employed by the resort to offer a childcare service, with activities taking place both on the beach and indoors. Kids over the age of eight can also join the youth sailing programme.

      The Bay restaurant is just the sort of place that weary guests will want to wind up for the warm evenings. Overlooking the tropical waters of the bay, this highly-commended restaurant serves a menu filled with authentic Caribbean flavours and fresh seafood dishes. The lounge bar also prizes itself for its extensive wine list, as well as serving fresh fruit cocktails throughout the day.

    • Nonsuch Bay offers fully-serviced Suites, Beach Cottages and Hilltop Villas.  They are all presented in a West Indian Georgian Colonial style with pure symmetrical lines, whitewashed walls and wood shingle roofs.

      The Suites

      1, 2 and 3 bedroom Suites are located in West Indian Georgian Colonial buildings within a few minutes’ walk of the palm-fringed sandy beach. The interiors are spacious and light with high ceilings and large living areas opening onto oversized verandas with outdoor furniture and all enjoy fabulous views of Nonsuch Bay.

      Interiors are decorated in a clean, luxurious style with hardwood floors, white walls and contemporary furniture. All these Suites are located on the 2nd or 3rd row from the beach with views of the bay and coastline.  They have large open plan living rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and both lounging and dining areas. The Suites are fully air-conditioned and have entertainment systems including widescreen LCD TVs, cable television, i-pod docks and free Wifi Internet.

      1 Bedroom Suite: Bedroom with King Bed and bathroom featuring bath with Jacuzzi tub and separate shower.  Occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child (0-12yrs).  Size: 900 sq.ft. / 83 m2 + Veranda 375 sq.ft / 35 m2

      2 Bedroom Suite:  1 king & 1 twin bedroom (on request 2 kings subject to availability) and 1 bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and separate shower & 1 with shower. Occupancy: 4 adults + 1 child (0-12yrs). Size: 1400 sq.ft. / 130 m2 + Veranda – 430 sq.ft / 40 m2

      3 Bedroom Suite: 2 kings & 1 twin bedroom and 1 bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, 1 with bath and separate shower & 1 with bathtub and shower combined.  Occupancy:  6 adults + 1 child (0-12yrs).  Size: 2500 sq.ft. / 235 m2 + Verandas – 980 sq.ft / 90 m2.  The apartment and verandas are over 2 floors.

      Beachfront Cottages

      There are two bedroom Beach Cottages, located directly behind the palm fringed sandy beach and with uninterrupted views across Nonsuch Bay. With 1400 sq.ft. /134 m2 of interior space, they have high ceilings, a large living area opening onto a wide covered veranda with outdoor furniture and full kitchens.

      Each cottage has two similar sized bedrooms with french windows leading on to the 60 m2 veranda. The bedroom with a king-size bed has an en-suite bathroom (jacuzzi tub and separate shower) and the second bedroom has twin beds and an adjacent shower room.  Interiors are decorated in a clean, luxurious style with hardwood floors, white walls and contemporary furniture. The cottages are air-conditioned throughout and have entertainment systems including widescreen LCD TVs, cable television, i-pod docks and Free Wifi Internet.  Occupancy:  4 adults + 1 child (0-12yrs)

       

      Hilltop Villas

      Nonsuch Bay offers three luxury hilltop villas for the discerning traveller wishing to experience Caribbean living at its finest. Each has its own distinct style, private grounds, covered and open terraces and verandas, swimming pool and breathtaking ocean views.There is a choice between a 3 bedroom villa and two villas with 5 bedrooms.

      With generous interior space, the villas have high ceilings and large, light living areas opening onto generous covered verandas and terraces with outdoor furniture. Interiors are decorated in luxurious style and combinations of traditional and contemporary furniture.

      Childcare is available mornings and afternoons and provides entertainment and activities both indoors and on shaded terraces.  Between the ages of 4 and 7, children can enjoy a wider range of activities on the beach and can take sailing trips in small groups with an adult instructor. During school holidays, children of 8 or older can join the sailing programme and enjoy a range of other watersports activities.

    • Restaurant and Bar

      The resort’s bar and restaurant, The Bay @ Nonsuch, are located on a bluff overlooking the tropical waters of Nonsuch Bay. Carefully designed to make the most of the dramatic site, tables and snug bar seating are arranged on a cascading series of terraces contoured along the edge of the hillside. During the day menus emphasise fresh, simple Caribbean and international favourites. In the evening diners can relax in the club lounge or at the bar for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, while choosing from a sophisticated internationally inspired dinner menu and select wine list.

      The In-Room Spa

      Guests are invited to indulge in a relaxing and revitalising range of treatments taken in the privacy of your own apartment or on your own shaded terrace.  Specialist therapists offer a comprehensive menu of wellness, beauty, regeneration and invigoration treatments which are personalised to meet your needs.

      Water Sports

      Nonsuch Bay is ideal for sailing, kite boarding, and other water sports. Conditions at Nonsuch Bay are outstanding for small boat sailing and kite surfing. The two square miles of enclosed waters are protected from the open sea by a barrier reef and the bay faces the consistent and warm trade winds. Blessed with this unique environment, water sports are at the very heart of the resort’s ethos.

      First class facilities and equipment include a fleet of sailing dinghies, catamarans and keelboats, boat dock, kayaks and safety boats. The resort’s sailing school offers sailing instruction for all ages and abilities and runs a sailing and activity programme for children. 40 knots kiteboarding school operates from Nonsuch Bay offering kite boarding and windsurfing instruction and equipment rental. Just a short boat ride from the resort, off lying coral reefs and uninhabited islands offer snorkelling in crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.

    • Deserted islands – Experience the true tranquility of an uninhabited island. Just a short boat trip across the bay, these secluded islands are home to untouched beaches and make for excellent snorkelling expeditions.

      Stingray City – Despite being located in St Philip’s Parish, the island’s Stingray Centre is well worth a visit for snorkelling enthusiasts. Visitors can swim with the centre’s friendly and gentle Southern Rays for a truly unique experience.

      Donkey Sanctuary – Antigua’s donkey sanctuary is located just over a half-an-hour drive away from Nonsuch Bay, located in the Saint Paul Parish.

      Fort Barrington – Constructed in 1779, this dramatic-looking English fort overlooks the shoreline and was established to protect the British from the French. A real slice of island history, located in St John’s district.

      Museum Of Antigua and Barbuda – Also located in St John’s, this museum provides a rich insight into the heritage and history of Antigua and the Caribbean.

    • When to Travel

      Peak season is December through to April but it’s still good to travel to Antigua throughout the summer months. Although, June to November is considered to be hurricane season with the hottest temperatures, the weather is known to be fairly accommodating with the high humid temperatures starting up in September through November.

      Location & Directions

      The stunning Nonsuch Bay is located on the East Coast of Antigua. It is just a 30-minute trip from Antigua’s International airport and a 20-minute drive to Falmouth, a bustling harbour town filled with bars, boutiques and restaurants.

      How to get there:

      British Airways and Virgin Atlantic operate direct 9 hour flights from London Gatwick to V.C Bird International Airport in the North East of Antigua.  Alternatively Thomas Cook Airlines fly from Manchester, UK on Thursdays from December to April.

      Nonsuch Bay is then approximately 30 minutes from the airport by private transfer.
