Amazing November snow in the Alps After last season's amazing snow, it's already looking very, very exciting for this year.   It's only the second week of November and Verbier and Tignes are already open, with plenty more snow on the ground elsewhere. All of these photos are from the last two days. Verbier goes for the world speed skiing record This week (April 13-20) Verbier is living to the beat of speed skiing. A ramp has been installed at the top of the Mont-Fort to allow the best and bravest speed skiers to test its 60° slope.   The challenge is to set a world record for speed skiing on April 20, 2013 The XSpeedSki is three competitions in one: 1)      The Pop KL open to all on April 13-14 2)       The 2013 FIS World Cup Final from April 15-17 3)       The Speed Master Pro on April 18-20 The Pop KL is an opportunity for everyone to test their limits!
