Fly to Hanoi

Depart the UK for a direct flight to Hanoi

Hanoi

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a two night stay at Sofitel Legend Metropole. Explore the city on an excursion that includes the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda and a cyclo tour through the maze of back streets that make up the famed Old Quarter. You can also enjoy a street food tour of Hanoi’s best culinary spots and a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight in a private cabin on the Victoria Express train from Hanoi to Sapa.

Sapa

On arrival at Lao Can station you will be transferred to The Victoria Sapa Resort for a one night stay. People flock to Sapa for a glimpse of the famed "Love Market," a trek to remote local colourful hill tribe villages, or an ascent of Vietnam's highest peak - Fan Si Pan whilst enjoying views of steeply terraced rice fields, primitive mud-thatched villages and stunning waterfalls. Overnight in a private cabin on the Victoria Express train back to Hanoi.

Halong Bay

On arrival at Hanoi in the early morning, you will be transferred by road or shared seaplane to Halong Bay. Often called Vietnam's eighth wonder of the world, this UNESCO World Heritage site boasts 3000 spectacular limestone outcroppings, where cliffs, arches and coves compete for space in an area that is without doubt the most outstanding natural site in the country - incomparable coastal scenery. On arrival at Halong Bay, board Violet, a traditional deluxe junk boat, for an overnight cruise along the World Heritage Site. Discover the Tien Ong Cave and Cua Van floating fishing village area, before returning to the boat for a cooking class with the chef and sundowners on the deck before dinner.

Hue

Begin your morning with Tai Chi on the deck and an early swim from a sandy stretch of beach before departing Halong Bay and returning to Hanoi for your flight to Hue. Transfer to La Residence for a two night stay. Here, explore the remains of the Imperial Citadel and the Thien Mu Pagoda and emperors’ tombs providing a unique window into Vietnam and its complex past.

Hoi An

Depart Hue, travelling overland via the Marble Mountains and Hai Van Pass to beautiful Hoi An where you will enjoy a four night stay at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai. Enjoy a guided walking tour through this ancient town and UNESCO World Heritage site, learn the secrets of preparing Vietnamese cuisine with a hands-on cookery course and take a short boat trip crossing the river from Hoi An to cycle along quiet countryside trails meeting and helping local farmers. After visiting the ancient buildings of the old town and experiencing the hustle and bustle of the markets, enjoy time relaxing or taking part in various water sports at the stunning beach resort of Nam Hai.

Ho Chi Min City

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, with two nights accommodation at the Park Hyatt Saigon. The best way to explore the city is from the back of a vintage Vespa with a guide zipping you around to the best street food eateries. Be sure to visit Saigon’s historic landmarks and opt for an underground tour of the Cu Chi tunnels.

Last day in Ho Chi Min City & return to UK

Escape the high-energy city to spend your last day with local families, exploring the rice paddies and fruit farms along the Mekong Delta. Transfer to the airport to connect with your return overnight flight to the UK.
