When to Travel
Winter season: December to April, when the area is covered in a blanket of snow, this is a skiers and snowboarders paradise. February or March are the best months.
Summer season: Late June to early September, is ideal for that peaceful escape into the beautiful scenery and summer in the mountains.
Alpendorf is a small hamlet approximately 3 km from the town centre of Sankt Johann, a busy town and the Pongau Region capital. It’s situated at an altitude of 800m at the foot of Gernkogel Ski Mountain (1,787 m) and with a vertical drop of 1000m the ski slopes are among Austria’s longest. The hotel offers doorstep skiing and is located 50m from the cable car to the Gernkoge. It is 30 minutes drive from the city of Mozart, Salzburg. Private or shared transfers from Salzburg Airport take approx. 50 minutes.

Stork’s Nest (0-2 years): Professionally supervised child-minding facilities are available for babies from 4 weeks old to 2 years old. The “Stork’s Nest” baby room is specially designed and fully equipped with cots, diaper buckets, HIPP care sets, bottle warmers, baby monitors, electrical outlet safeguards and much more! Other facilities/equipment provided by the hotel includes HIPP Baby Breakfast Corner, Baby carriers, high chairs and buggies, a baby kitchen with microwave, vaporiser and baby sound monitoring. Individual babysitting services are available outside of hours for a fee.
Mini-Club (3-6 years): The Kid´s Wonderland mini-club is run by qualified child minders and offers creative fun and imaginative activities. Facilities/activities include: large building corner, magical doll corner, activity room with climbing wall, entertaining group activity games, kiddy-Olympics, outdoor games, arts and handicrafts, creative game evenings, storytelling and a comfort-corner with pillows and blankets for quiet times and reading. Optional supervision in the mini-club during meal times available.
Smiley Room (7-15 years): Daily indoor and outdoor activities are organised. Activities/facilities include: a youth room with Dolby-Surround (from 12 years), a family recreation room with table tennis, table football, darts, climbing on the climbing wall, soccer tournaments, Olympics and outdoor excursions.
Fred’s Swim Academy: The hotel’s swim school for babies from 3 months of age and children of all ages. Modern training equipment and age-based classes guarantee quick success and a lot of fun for the kids!
Tennis 4 Kids: The hotel offers kids’ tennis lessons that don’t only focus on teaching tennis technique, they also offer ample opportunity to experience a variety of movement associated with other types of sports.
Children’s Ski School: For children from 4 to 14 years. The Alpendorf children’s ski school is specially focused towards children. Young and dedicated ski instructors introduce children to the secrets of skiing. where games and fun come first! The ski school operates the "Obergassalm" children’s ski area, with 2 conveyor lifts located at the mountain station of the cable car.

Golf simulator: Alpina is home to a state-of-the-art golf simulator, which can simulate famous and beautiful golf courses from across the globe – it’s great for beginners or those who miss the green!
Tennis courts: The resort has two indoor synthetic tennis courts, which can be hired out. Lessons of all abilities (including children) are available.
