What to love
- Borgo Egnazia’s bar, Bar del Portico, is the perfect spot to sit and relax pre or post dinner. Designed with polished stone floors and an open fireplace, bar staff serve sophisticated cocktails, as well as an extensive list of wines and liquors.

Borgo Egnazia’s accommodation is split into three different sections. La Corte is the hotel’s main building, providing elegantly furnished rooms and suites, each with a crisp décor, chic furnishings and modern fittings. Alternatively, Il Borgo is a unique village of apartments – complete with its own central piazza. Guests staying at this charming hub will enjoy a spacious, refined apartment, perfect for smaller groups or families. Finally, ‘Le Ville’, houses a collection of luxury villas which offer private comfort on an exceptional scale. Each three-storey townhouse is made up of 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, two living areas, kitchen and outdoor area complete with private pool.

When to Travel
Puglia enjoys a mild climate and is a region that can be enjoyed year round however June and September are particularly good months to visit. April, May and October are generally warm and sunny with occasional showers and the evenings can sometimes be cool. From June to August the days are long and hot and sunny with warm evenings although in July and August it can sometimes feel a little humid. September tends to be warm and sunny. There is usually little rain from June to September although there can be occasional showers at any time.
Puglia is famous for its fresh produce and delicious food and there are food fairs and festivals throughout the year, reaching a peak during July and August. Dating back to the days when farmers would gather to buy and sell produce, today’s celebrations are decided on tradition, what is in season and what a town may wish to celebrate!

Borgo Egnazia is in the heart of Puglia, about five minutes from the traditional fishing town of Savelletri di Fasano on the Adriatic coast and is an ideal base from which to explore this unspoiled region of Italy. The resort is approximately 50 kilometres and 50 minutes drive from both Brindisi and Bari airports.

Borgo Egnazia was built entirely of rough limestone and local stones cut by the skilled hands of stone masters. Artist and designer Pino Brescia was inspired by the simplicity of Puglia’s ancient farmhouses and rural villages. It is a contemporary interpretation of Apulian architecture, providing three kinds of accommodation, different in scope and size, but all conceived as an harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, modernity and authenticity, grandeur and simplicity.
La Corte is the traditional main building, with 63 rooms divided into different types. The famous Borgo is at the heart of the property with its entrance arches, narrow streets with Apulian names, the bustling square, fountains and the iconic clock tower. Here there are 92 different types of houses, and finally there are 29 villas with private gardens and pools that are perfect for families and for those who want absolute privacy.
La Corte (63 rooms)
La Corte is the main central building that hosts many of Borgo Egnazia’s facilities, such as Due Camini restaurant and the spa. The interiors are a perfect blend between traditional Mediterranean Style and contemporary design. The rooms are divided in different categories: La Corte Bella, La Corte Bella Vista Mare, La Corte Splendida, La Corte Splendida Vista Mare, La Corte Magnifica and La Egnazia.
Each room is equipped with a super king-size bed or twin beds, the bathrooms are completely made of stone and each room boasts a balcony, terrace or private garden.
The balconies and terraces offer wonderful views over the Adriatic Sea or the millenary old olive groves and the Murge hills.
La Corte Bella: An intimate and cozy room nestled in the vaulted corridors at the top of the imposing double staircase of La Corte. The room features contemporary yet evocative traditional decorations, a super king-size bed and sofa, stone writing desk and a stylish bathroom that make it the perfect space in which to relax.
La Corte Splendida: La Corte Splendida combines space with style featuring a comfortable and spacious living area with a big sofa and a sturdy stone desk, plus a large bathroom with double stone basin and a glass-encased walk-in shower. As for the furnishings, all the Borgo Egnazia signature fine and traditional Apulian details are there. The choice between a highly panoramic balcony or a secluded garden, both equipped with a table and chairs, further ensures an experience of pleasant privacy and relaxation.
La Corte Magnifica: These rooms feature a bright living area with two sofas and a large stone table next to an exquisite decorative fireplace. The separate bedroom is both spacious and stylish, with a super king-size bed and a large bathroom. The suite’s private terrace is equipped with table, chairs and some sun loungers allowing guests to enjoy the view over the swimming pool, the olive groves or the San Domenico golf course and the blue Adriatic sea.
La Egnazia: The most peaceful and magnificent suite, La Egnazia features two separate day areas, a large living space with relaxation area and decorative stone fireplace plus a large bedroom with a super king-size bed, with direct access to a grand ensuite bathroom with a full-size central stone bathtub and a massive double walk-in shower. Its plunge pool and exquisite patio provide the perfect retreat for honeymooners and privacy seekers, who can also enjoy breath-taking vistas from the spacious terraces
Il Borgo
Il Borgo, with its central Piazza, is the most unique part of the property . Its architectural design is that of a traditional Apulian village. It hosts many of Borgo Egnazia’s facilities, such as La Frasca restaurant, Trattoria Mia Cucina, Trullalleri Kids Club and the Marinai Teens Club. The small streets, “secret corners” and architectural details are all inspired by local towns whilst the the accommodation is characterized by rustic-chic interior design.
Borgo Splendida: The Borgo Splendida has a refined and rustic layout inspired by old Apulian rural houses featuring a spacious bedroom with a super king-size bed and a comfortable living corner with a sofa. This room boasts outdoor areas for privacy and relaxation: a spectacular roof terrace or a private Mediterranean patio garden.
Borgo Magnifica: One of the largest yet most intimate accommodations in the Borgo, the simple and refined two room Borgo Magnifica is the ideal accommodation for a couple on a romantic getaway. It features a bedroom with a super king-size four poster bed, a comfortable and stylish living area with a sofa and a roof terrace.
Casetta Bella
The Casetta Bella is the place in which to enjoy the simple, rustic coziness of the “casette”, a two-storey house in the Borgo.
Casetta Splendida: A two-storey house ideal for a family with one or two children or a couple looking for extra space. The Casetta Splendida is styled on a traditional rural Apulian home but provides modern, fully-equipped accommodation featuring a small kitchenette, living area, a double bedroom and a convertible studio. The private patio offers a secluded retreat in a real Apulian garden, while the roof terrace offers beautiful views.
Casetta Magnifica: The two-floor Casetta Magnifica is a secluded house in the very heart of the Borgo. Ideal for groups of four person (two couples or a family) the house is made in rough limestone and decorated with fine home furnishings in typical Apulian style. It features a small kitchenette, two double bedrooms, a cosy living area and three stone bathrooms, plus a sunlit roof terrace offering amazing vistas of the Borgo and a private patio garden, with table, chairs and sun loungers.
The Villas
The villas are all furnished in a classic yet sophisticated and cool style and are equipped with all home comforts and have a secluded position close to the property’s buzzy areas. All Villas are located over three levels, with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room, family room, terrace, garden, patio and private pool. All guests staying in the Villas can enjoy exclusive tailor-made amenities such as a Massaia and a Local Adviser.
Villas are divided in different categories: Villa Bella, Villa Deliziosa, Villa Stupenda, Villa Magnifica, Villa Meravigliosa, Villino.
Family
Borgo Egnazia is dedicated to offering a holiday the whole family can enjoy and the hotel was awarded the “Best New Family Holiday” award by Tatler magazine. For families travelling with babies and young children there are highchairs, sterilizers and bottle warmers available and the resort has a superbly designed and managed children’s club. There is also a a special family restaurant ’da Puccetta’ designed exclusively for young guests offering delicious dishes that were carefully created and prepared for children.
Trullalleri Children’s Club: infants (0-3 years) and children (4-7 years)
A fun and inspirational children’s club run by highly qualified and trained staff located in a superbly designed area within the Borgo.
The programs are carried out in outdoor and indoor play areas with different activities such as: art & craft lab, cooking classes and drawing with the sand. The children have fun with the activities outdoor, being in contact with the nature with the archeological lab, the mini-garden and the farm (hippotherapy and animal care), discovering the territory and traditions.
Activities vary each day and are designed to suit each age group and can include ceramics and jewellery making, preparing desserts, swimming, obstacle courses, treasure hunts, decorating and make-up.
Marinai Club: 8 to 12 years and Tarantari Teen’s Club: 13 to 16 years
Older children are well catered for by a dedicated animation team that run the fun and active Marinai & Tarantari clubs. Based in the games room the older children and teenagers can play Wii, Xbox, or participate in planned workshops and classes. However there is also much emphasis on outdoor activities including sports such as basketball, tennis, table tennis, table football, soccer academy, climbing at the adventure park, go karts, pool games and fun water sports.
The animation team is on hand to look after the children until 10pm.
Babysitting: Available on request however pre-booking is essential.
Some other facilities and Activities for families
Swimming Pools: Borgo Egnazia has four swimming pools. The outdoor family pool with a separate children’s section, is supervised by lifeguards and is heated from mid-September until mid-June. There are also two outdoor pools at La Corte, as well as a heated pool inside the main building (children must be supervised here, and can only use the pool between 10am and 12 noon, and 5pm–7pm).
Beaches: There are two private beaches. Cala Masciola is a rocky beach 10 minutes walk from the resort and is home to the water-sports centre. There are also relaxing cabanas and the Cala Masciola Beach bar. On spring and summer evenings Cala Masciola comes alive with parties that last well into the night. La Fonte is a sandy beach, five minutes drive from the resort and is the perfect spot for families. There is a game park, loungers, gazebos and a bar.
Watersports Centre: Located on the private Cala Masciola beach and offers a wide range of water sports in the crystal clear waters including snorkelling trips, sailing, windsurfing, tubing, water-skiing, wake-boarding, paddle boarding and kayaking. Borgo Egnazia’s water sports club also organizes fishing and boat trips.
Tennis: Borgo Egnazia offers superb tennis facilities. There are four tennis courts, (two synthetic grass courts and two professional hard courts) and an on-site team of professional instructors. Borgo Egnazia also organises tennis clinics led by international tennis champions.
Other Activities: Borgo Egnazia also offers bicycle rental (with or without a picnic basket included) for guests to explore the local area, cooking and ceramic lessons and a games room.
Cooking school: Learn to cook the Apulian way with kitchen staff. Prepare and cook dishes with ingredients fresh from the resort’s grounds.
Exercise classes: Join in with the fitness team in a number of organised classes, specialising in rejuvenating exercises and yoga.
Water sports: With its own private beach, the Borgo Egnazia team offer a range of organised water sports and activities, including water skiing, wake-boarding, kayaking and snorkelling.
