The D Maris Bay features five private stunning natural sandy beaches each offering their own individual concept and style. The main Bay Beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag rating.
The resort is a haven for water sport enthusiasts. The private calm flat bay on one side of the peninsula is ideal for wake boarding and waterskiing whilst the wind and waves on the other side are ideal for sailing, windsurfing and catamaran sailing. Diving, snorkelling and kayaking trips are also available.
The stylish contemporary rooms have been designed to offer guests the ultimate escape and relaxation. Floor to ceiling windows offer magnificent views of the mountains or the sea.

Description

A prestigious member of The Leading Hotels of the World, D Maris Bay offers stunning views from its hillside position on the Datca Peninsula. The resort features five natural private beaches each with their own style and concept from quiet and relaxing on the Silence Beach to the more lively atmosphere on the Blue Flag rated Bay Beach - the resort’s largest, which offers DJ music at the Aqua Bar during the afternoon.

The stylish and contemporary rooms and suites are decorated to a high standard and feature state of the art facilities including Bose iPod or iPhone docking stations and Smart touch control panels for the air-conditioning and heating as well as offering magnificent views of the sea or mountains.

Guests staying in the suites or villa also benefit from access to the Executive Club with its private concierge service and food and beverage services as well as access to the Executive Beach with six stylish cabanas especially dedicated for Executive Club Lounge guests.

The five a la carte restaurants provide a sumptuous array of choice of menu with three restaurants located on the resort’s main beach overlooking the sea. There are also six bars to choose from including the award-winning Zuma bar and lounge on the ground floor boasting magnificent views and DJ performances. Fine wines and whiskey can be sampled at El Vino or party the night away at the Coliseum bar on the Peninsular.

There is a host of activities on offer including a superb gym, jogging tracks, tennis with optional coaching and a wide range of watersports including waterskiing and wake boarding and sailing, windsurfing and catamaran sailing operated in conjunction with the international sailing school.

When to travel

The hotel is open for the summer season from the end of April to end October. Warm, long sunny days can be enjoyed from the end April to mid June when the temperature is moderate. From late June to early September the weather can be very hot. From mid September throughout October the weather is mild and pleasant, although the days are slightly shorter the sea is still warm and the resorts are often quieter.

There are a number of festivals throughout the year in the Datca area. In August there is the Almond Festival whilst in September there is a festival dedicated to the life and works of the famous local poet Can Yucel with readings and lectures. There is also a Kite Festival in Resadiye, usually held in April.

D Maris Bay has a stunning hillside position on the Datca Peninsula where the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas meet, boasting wonderful views of the sea and the volcanic mountain backdrop surrounding the property as well as direct access to five private beaches. The hotel is approx. 35km from the city of Marmaris and 36km from the mountain village of Bayr, famous for its ancient plane tree.

The resort is approx. 130km (1 hour 45 mins) from Dalaman International Airport or 155km (2hrs 30 mins) from Bodrum International Airport. The hotel also offers private helicopter transfers from both airports which take approx. 25 minutes.

There are 193 spacious rooms and suites and one sumptuous villa at the D Maris Bay, designed to create the ultimate retreat in which to relax and soak up the breathtaking views. With a modern and contemporary feel the finest materials and attention to detail provides a sophisticated ambience.

All rooms have a Smart room control touch panel, air-conditioning/heating, soundproofing, a safe, mini bar, cable and WiFi internet, television, Bose iPod or iPhone docking station and 24 hour in-room dining. All bathrooms have a bath and shower, heated towel warmer, lighted makeup mirror, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers and a full range of amenities.

Couple Sea View Room: Feature king or twin beds, floor to ceiling windows with sea views and a French balcony. The rooms sleep a maximum of two guests. Room sizes vary from approx. 24-30m2.

Family Sea View Room: Feature King or twin beds, floor to ceiling windows with sea views and a French balcony. The rooms sleep a maximum of three guests and can accommodate children under 6 years of age. For children, there is the provision of a baby cot (for 0-6 years old) or extra bed, bathrobe, slippers, bath amenities, bathtub for baby and children, step for baby basin, baby phone, bottle warmer and sterilizer are available in family room upon request. Couple Mountain View Room: As above but with a balcony and mountain views. Room sizes vary from approx. 24-34m2.

Superior Mountain View Room: Superior Mountain View rooms have a king size or twin beds and also have a balcony. The rooms sleep a maximum of two guests and vary in size from approx. 35-41m2. Please note Superior Sea View rooms do not have a balcony.

Deluxe Sea View and Deluxe Mountain View Room - The Deluxe rooms have a king size or twin beds, floor to ceiling windows with sea or mountain views and a balcony. Deluxe rooms have can fit an additional bed for a child or adult. The rooms sleep up to three guests. Room sizes vary from approx. 35-47m2.

Superior Sea View Suite and Superior Mountain View Suite: The Superior Suites feature a separate bedroom and living area, floor to ceiling windows with sea or mountain views, an executive work desk, twice daily housekeeping services and guests benefit from access to the Executive Club Lounge. Superior Suites sleep up to three guests. Room sizes vary from approx. 52-58m2.

Junior Sea View and Junior Mountain View Suite: Larger Junior Suites have a bedroom and sitting area and also give guests access to the Executive Club Lounge. Junior Suites sleep up to three guests. Room sizes vary from 58 to 64m2.

Premier Suites, Executive Suites and a duplex Presidential Suite on the 8th and 9th floors of the hotel are also available.

Villa: The exclusive Villa offers unobstructed sea and mountain views and features two spacious bedrooms each with a private bathroom. The luxurious living and dining area with marble floors and walls has a fireplace and luxurious Italian furniture. There is a fully equipped kitchen and the marble bathroom boasts a private sauna with an amazing view and a steam room. Villa guests also benefit from a 24 hour butler service as well as access to the Executive Club Lounge. The large private garden has stunning views of the islands and features an 80m2 private swimming pool. The Villa sleeps up to four guests in two double beds. The Villa can accommodate children under 6 years of age. Indoor space is approx. 310m2. The garden is approx. 454m2.

Family

The D Maris Bay is an excellent choice for families.

There is a brand-new Kids Club open from 9 am to 6 pm for children aged 4 to 12 years. From June 15 to September 15, the Kids Club is also open in the evening, from 8 pm to 11 pm. Supervised by instructors, children can indulge in a range of activities: creative workshops (painting of objects, t-shirts etc.), table tennis, air hockey, fishing, canyoning.

The club room is equipped with video games, kids & teenage films, air-hockey, table tennis and games including scrabble, monopoly and backgammon etc. Various workshops such as t-shirt printing, painting and gift making are also organised by the club as well as activities such as fishing, canoeing, mountain biking, tennis and water sports including diving courses.

Teenagers can enjoy a range of supervised activities in their own club.

The hotel provides parents with a wide range of baby equipment: cots, bathrobes, slippers, bath toys, baby-phone, bottle warmer, sterilizers.

Swimming Pools: The hotel has an indoor pool, a vitality pool and an outdoor pool.

Please note that two of the five beaches are only available for children aged 12 years and over.

Watersports: D Maris Bay is the ultimate location for water sport enthusiasts. Unique bay offers the best water sport facilities in the area with a water skiing and wake boarding centre offering courses from beginner to expert.

The other side of the peninsula offers wind and waves perfect for sailing, catamaran sailing and windsurfing operated in conjunction with an international sailing school. The resort also has a dive centre offering PADI courses and diving and snorkeling excursions. The resort also has a choice of yachts available for charter.

Aqua Dream Water Park is a 40-minute drive away.

Knidos: The ancient settlement of Knidos is one of the most amazing historical places in the area. Knidos was a highly developed city in terms of science, architecture and art in ancient times and is the home of the temple of Apollon.

Bayr: 36km from D Maris Bay is the mountain village of Bayr famous for its ancient plane tree said to be 2300-2500 years old. Local folklore says that walking around the tree three times can extend one’s life. Bayır is also located on the ancient city of Syrna. The acropolis is located about a half-hour's walk from the village, remnants of the city walls and some grave stone and structures can be seen along the way.

Old Datca: Explore the old town of Datca with its cobbled streets and traditional old stone houses, arts and craft shops, tavernas and tea houses.

Guided Kayak and Mountain Bike Tours: At the intersection of the Aegean and Mediterranean guests can explore the hidden bays on a guided kayak tour. Alternatively, adrenalin seekers can try a guided mountain bike tour of the stunning Datca Peninsula.

Scenic helicopter tour: Air tours of the Datca Peninsula can be taken in the resort’s private helicopter.
