Description

Set into the side of a majestic hillside filled with rich greenery, Daios Cove overlooks the clear blue waters of the bay. Set on the east facing shoreline, guests can enjoy the early morning sun from their private balcony, or meander down the secluded pathway to the resort’s private stretch of sandy beach.

Built with an elegant, stone clad exterior, the resort is home to 261 luxury rooms and suites and 39 private villas. Inside, each suite has a stylish décor created by prestigious interior designers 3SK Stylianidis. The bedrooms are fitted with Egyptian linen bedding and memory foam pillows, while the marble-lined bathroom has a deep bathtub and shower cabin. Each room has a spacious living area, equipped with innovative amenities such as Wi-Fi, iPod docks and a media-hub TV. Each room’s private terrace is perfect for a lunch overlooking the Mediterranean.

Guests of Daios Cove Luxury Resort have a choice of four gastronomic experiences for dinner. Those looking to sample local specialties will enjoy the Traverna with its Grecian menu, and the Varka restaurant, serving health conscious Cretan cuisine. The Ocean restaurant serves a sophisticated à la carte Italian menu while overlooking the infinity pool, while Pangea has something for everyone with its themed buffet-style nights.

Daios Cove is a superb family, friendly resort with great children’s facilities. There is the Crèche Club (4 months - 4 years) and the children’s club (4 to 12 years) run by qualified, multilingual staff and there are also fun activities organised for teenagers. Families will enjoy the children’s pool and the sandy, child friendly beach as well as special children’s menus and babysitting options.

The resort’s wellness centre is equipped with the height of spa treatment facilities. Designed with two exclusive spa suites, a Finnish sauna, hydro-massage and Thai massage studio, as well as an indoor infinity pool with breathtaking sea views, it provides the perfect environment to relax. When to travel:

The climate of Crete is a temperate Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild winters. It is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the weather generally settled from April/May onwards but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot.

Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit Crete with May, June, September and October being particularly pleasurable months.

Location

Daios Cove is nested on a hillside overlooking its private tranquil bay and sandy beach in the North-East of Crete. It is 10 minutes south of Agios Nikolaos, 20 minutes from the village of Elounda and less than an hour by private transfer from Heraklion International Airport.
