Description
The award-winning Nam Hai resort beautifully marries modern and contemporary style with Vietnamese ideals and traditions to create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The striking architecture and interior design draws inspiration from Central Vietnamese garden homes and ancient phong thy (Vietnamese feng shui) and is set amid 35 hectares of stunning lush tropical gardens overlooking a beautiful white sand beach and the East Sea.
Central to the resort are three infinity pools which mesmerisingly cascade towards the deep blue waters of the East Sea. There is a heated family pool, adult-only lap pool and adult-only infinity pool. Furthermore guests can take advantage of complimentary bicycles and a wide range of facilities including a fitness centre, four tennis courts, volleyball, badminton and basketball courts, several complimentary watersports and a cooking academy. The resort also offers an excellent kids club and young adults club to ensure that all members of the family are well catered for.
Afloat on a lotus pond, the beautiful spa is sure to rejuvenate mind, body and soul. The extensive range of treatments on offer include scrubs, wraps and beauty therapies as well as treatments specially designed for children. The unique signature Nam Hai Earth Song ritual uses the healing energy from the sounds of eight quartz-crystal bowls to balance energies and heighten self-awareness and is an experience not to be missed. Guests can also participate in mindfulness classes, meditation and an extensive range yoga classes.
Each uniquely styled villa is timber framed and features decorative panels inside that rise to a pitched roof lined with flat tiles. Inside the villas are centred around a canopied bed with gossamer nets that create a lantern like effect and here guests will also find a sunken bath and day beds. Ideal for those seeking a romantic escape or for vacations with young children, the one bedroom villas look out over the sea or across the landscaped gardens and feature private terraces and outdoor rain showers. The 1 to 5 bedroom Pool Villas are perfect for families or small groups travelling together and offer exquisite comfort and total privacy. With a heated infinity pool surrounded by tropical gardens and separate thatched dining pavilion, a private butler will take care of every detail for you.
Take the complimentary 10 minute shuttle ride to the ancient town to be enchanted by the atmospheric lantern-lit streets and artisan ateliers and be tempted by the world-class tailoring. See how most of its original architecture, including houses, temples, pagodas, streets, bridges, religious structures and other non-religious worshipping structures have been preserved and are a hybrid of those from China and Japan. Travel further afield and visit two more UNESCO World Heritage sites; the temple-strewn sanctuary of My Son and the Imperial City of Hue’s Citadel’s towering pagoda and vast tomb complexes.
Indulgent buffet breakfasts and international and Indian cuisine is served at Cafe Nam Hai overlooking the pool and around the open kitchen where local chefs create mouth-watering dishes. Themed evening meals include the Nha Trang lobster and street food evening complete with lanterns to provide an authentic Vietnamese experience. Tasty Asian tapas can be enjoyed at the beach bar or you can enjoy a signature cocktail with sea views from the elegant bar.
All of the above combined with the attentive service of the staff throughout the resort ensures that the Nam Hai has firmly established itself as one of the leading luxury resorts in Asia.
When to Travel
Hoi An has two seasons. Dry season runs approximately March until September; the rainy season usually starts in October and runs until February. February to April is usually the most pleasant time to travel as temperatures soar between May and August.
The high tourist season coincides with Central Vietnam’s wet season, when the seas are rough and at the rain can feel endless and there is a risk of typhoon. From late October to mid-December Hoi An’s old town is prone to flooding as it sits on low ground surrounded by waterways and mountain ranges, and then there’s a tidal influence as the main river meets the sea.
Location
The Nam Hai has an idyllic location on Vietnam’s culturally rich central coast on Ha My Beach just a short drive from Hoi An and three UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The resort is 30 minutes by private car from Da Nang International Airport
