Description

To get the most out of a family skiing holiday you want entertainment and engaging activities both on and off the slopes. The four-star superior Hotel Bär not only serves as a perfect resting point after taking on the Tyrolian mountain ranges, but it has plenty to occupy busy minds once you’ve had your fill of snow.

Summoning some real Austrian charm, each of Hotel Bär’s spacious suites have been refurbished with elegant loden wallpaper offsetting rustic wooden panelling. Each suite also provides plush furnishings, contemporary bathroom fittings and modern amenities with an electronic baby monitor (the “babyphone”) and baby care sets as standard. There is then, of course, the spectacular alpine views that help set a truly majestic tone each and every morning. Suites range from the Bären Suite (60 sqm) through to the Balu King Suite (95 sqm).

The resort takes entertainment and down time very seriously. The hotel’s spa and wellbeing centre has been crafted with the most soothing architecture and has a choice of four different saunas and two chill-out rooms. When to Travel

Winter season: December to April, when the area is covered in a blanket of snow, this is a skiers and snowboarders paradise. February to April are the best months but the resort is an lovely place to be for the christmas and New Year festivities too.

Summer season: Early June to early September, is ideal for that peaceful escape into the beautiful scenery and summer in the mountains with the flower blooms starting in early June.

Autumn season: A quiet time in the alps but still with spectacular scenery and attractive prices for young families in particular.

Location

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis enjoys a superbly sunny location above the Inntal Valley on a plateau situated 1,400 m above sea level. Surrounded by the enchanting mountain peaks of the Samnaun Group and the foothills of the Ötztal Alps.

Private or shared transfers from Innsbruck airport will then take approx. 1 hour, Alternatively Friedrichschafen is approx. 2 hours) and Memmingen is approx. 2 1/2 hours.

Suites at the Bär underscore the sophistication of the hotel. Elegant family accommodation is furnished with high quality materials yet still exudes a cosy atmosphere thanks to its Tyrolean style.

All suites (except the Alpinisuites) have been completely refurbished with exquisite loden wallpaper, new wood panelling and extra (220 cm) long, high quality Vi-Spring mattresses so you can get an excellent night’s sleep. Each suite also features an adjustable ventilation system, flat screen TV, a safe, radio, phone, WLAN and a fridge. An electronic baby monitor (the “babyphone”) and baby care sets are included as standard. The Baloo Suite and Baloo King Suite also come with a Bose iPhone/ iPod docking station.

The Balu King Suite: covers an area of about 95 m² and has everything a discerning family could possibly expect for a relaxing stay. A large entrance hall and separate closet with plenty of storage space are located at the front. The spacious bathroom features an extra shower and separate WC. A very large combined living room and bedroom radiates a ‘feel good’ atmosphere thanks to the cosy interior (with a sofa suite and extra traditional corner bench seating). The beds ensure an excellent night’s sleep with their 220 cm long Vi-Spring mattresses. In addition, two spacious children’s bedrooms are available – with two beds and one double bed, respectively. The living area connects directly to a west-facing recessed balcony from where you can take in fantastic views of the impressive mountain scenery!

The Balu Suite: (72 m²) offers a big entrance hall with a spacious wall closet as well as a large bathroom with an extra shower and a separate WC. A wonderfully combined living and sleeping area creates a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere and features plenty of seating (including a sofa suite and traditional corner bench seating). Like all the other suites it is appointed with high-quality materials. The parents’ bed is extremely large (220 cm) and fitted with a Vi-Spring mattress. A separate bedroom offers space for up to three children. The recessed, west-facing balcony offers wonderful views of the mountains towards the Furgler and Plansegg (as well as the skiing and hiking area of the Serfaus Komperdell).

The Bären King Suite: (about 66 m²) offers families with two children plenty of space for a comfortable and relaxing stay. A large entrance hall marks the start of the suite and a spacious bathroom with an extra shower and separate WC connects straight to the entrance area. The large combined living and sleeping area with a roomy wall cabinet forms the centrepiece of the very cosy Bear King Suite. Enjoy a good night’s sleep on a Vi-Spring mattress! There’s also plenty of space to relax and while away the hours thanks to the pleasant seating arrangement. The children’s bedroom is fitted with two beds (in the form of a bunk bed). Outside, the south-facing location enjoys a top location.

The Bären Suite: With a minimum size of 60 m², offers guests a spacious entrance hall with a big wall closet. The large bathroom features a bathtub, extra shower and separate WC. The heart of the Bären Suite consists of a combined living and sleeping area with a sofa suite as well as traditional corner bench seating. This room connects straight to the south-facing balcony. The separate children’s bedroom is fitted with a bunk bed and offers space for two children.

Family

The Children’s Club consists of an enormous adventure world for children which extends across an area of around 1,000 m². Children can look forward to the delights of the Bär Paradise – a huge soft play centre extending across five floors with slides and gigantic climbing tower as well as an outdoor sandpit, a toddler’s playroom, special crafts and puppet areas, The Bär theatre consists of a large entertainment hall with a professionally equipped show stage for children and a 3D chilren's cinema.

Children are divided up into different age groups with different programmes tailored to meet the needs of each age group.

Bär Baby Club 0-2 years: Babies and infants up to the age of two are tenderly looked after at the Löwe Baby Club. They have been awarded the “Baby-Perfekt” quality hallmark for their comprehensive range of services.

Bär Mini Club 3-6 years: Children between three and six years of age are looked after at the Mini Club. Here they find everything a child can only dream of, from the five-storey soft play centre and giant climbing tower to a special crafts and creativity area.

Bär Kids Club 7-9 years: The Kids Club offers lots of outdoor games and sports activities including a pirates’ puzzle, the climbing wall, smugglers’ night, a treasure hunt and the children’s show. The programme of activities includes a sleep-over in an alpine hut, the giant Skyswing and the Adventure Mountains (with the Witch’s House and Explorer’s Trail) as well as the hotels’ very own School of Magic.

Bär Teenie Club 10-13 years: 10-year-olds and older children can look forward to an exciting, action-packed programme of different activities at the Teenie Club ranging from climbing, inline skating and mountain biking to smugglers’ adventures, ball games, canyoning and climbing in the forest high ropes garden. An outstanding highlight of the week is the staging of the children’s show in the Bär theatre.

Mealtimes at the Children’s Club: Members of staff are more than delighted to look after your children at mealtimes. In addition to a children’s buffet in the evenings the hotel also offers a supervised lunch and evening meal for youngsters at the Children’s Club.

Lucky Luke Saloon: Upon request supervised lunches and evening meals are offered at the Bär. The saloon has more than a touch of the Wild West about it!
