Description

The beauty of the Sheraton Algarve being situated within the Pine Cliffs Resort is that it really caters for everyone’s needs. Whether looking for a relaxing holiday or an energetic one, you can find it here. There are 5 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool with plenty of sun-loungers for those who want to relax, whilst there are a whole host of physical activities for anyone looking for some action.

The resort has a golf academy and tennis academy on-site catering for all ages and abilities. The Tennis Centre features five floodlit courts - two clay and three all-weather hard courts - ideal for day or night time play. The golf course is built in a pinewood setting with tree-lined fairways running parallel to the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the country’s original courses. The jewel of this perfectly kept course is the Par 3 sixth hole. The championship tee is built over a ravine that requires a 198 metre carrying shot over the cliffs to a deep but narrow green.

There’s nowhere better to beat the stresses of daily life than the RitualSPA. Harmonise your body and soul and come home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. If you enjoy a nice massage, the wellness and beauty centre offers the signature ‘luxury world massages’ based on ancestral oriental therapies. The spa also offers a range of ‘Just for him’ treatments, perfect for a business traveller or someone who has had a tiring day on the golf course.

When it comes to gastronomy, there is a wide choice of restaurants available. Jardim Colonial offers buffet meals and an a la carte menu offering Portugese and International cuisine to cater for all tastes where as O Pescador is a treat for seafood lovers. Piri Piri combines steakhouse dishes with Portuguese specialities whilst  O Grill offers a varied choice of the Mediterranean flavours and international cuisine in the form of grilled dishes and “show cooking”.  The Corda Cafe offers all dining,  Alder offers Moroccan cuisine in a typically traditional and mystic setting whereas Yakuza is one of the finest Japanese restaurants in the Algarve and offers traditional specialities with a Mediterranean twist.

The Sheraton Algarve is a superb choice for families. Porto Pirata Children’s Village welcomes kids from 6 months to 8 years old and is a haven of fun! The pirate ship playgrounds surround the children’s village, which is supervised by qualified staff and enables your children to try a whole host of fun activities from finger painting and treasure hunts to basketball and water games. There is also a junior club for 8 to 12 year olds.With children's menus available in restaurants and a games room and mini 18-hole golf course offering fun for the whole family.

When to travel

Boasting more than 300 days of sunshine a year, the Algarve is a super year round warm destination. Outside of the peak travel months it can be a little chilly in the evenings and summer afternoons can get breezy. Rain is unlikely. Best times to visit: May - September. Good times to visit: October & April.

The resort is just 10 minutes from Albufeira, 15 minutes from Vilamoura and 45 minutes from Faro airport.

Family

Pine Cliffs is very much focussed on families and children with excellent facilities. Young members of the family are sure to have a fantastic time taking part in many of the available activities including mini golf, football, crossbow, arts & crafts and much more.  There are also children's menus in the restaurants and babysitting available .

Porto Pirata Children’s Village (6 months to 8 years):  supervised by qualified staff and is a haven of fun for kids. Imagine the wonder of your child exploring a playground filled with two life-size wooden pirate ships. The multi-functional ships anchor the incredibly spacious Porto Pirata, the hotel's 7000 square metre on-site children's village where children enjoy their own adventures complete with a bouncing castle, basketball court, mini track for big-wheel toys, scooters and bikes, a swimming pool just for kids, and an 18-hole mini-golf course to entertain the whole family.

Daily activities are organised by age and include finger painting, arts and crafts, treasure hunts, water games, face painting and various sporting activities. The program and outdoor facilities is offered to all guests, with some activities within the program, incurring a nominal charge.

Porto Pirata is open from April through October, and during selected dates throughout festive seasons. Prices vary according to the child's age, the time of year and the number of sessions booked. It is recommended that you pre-book your child's participation by contacting Move Mountains.

Junior Club ( 8 to 12 years):  There is an entertainment team that organises daily activities for children in the Junior Club. Activities include volleyball, basketball, field hockey, archery, beach walks, step aerobics, fitness exercises, Tai Chi, bike trips and much more.  Some activities are free, but the majority of activities are payable.
 
Babysitting: It is possible to book English speaking babysitters who are trained in first aid.

Games Room:  There is a games room with pool billiard, video games and table tennis.

Mini Golf: The 18 hole mini golf course at Porto Pirata is ideal for families.

The Beach and Water Sports: The Falesia Beach is accessible by a private panoramic elevator or stairs.  Sun beds and parasols are available free of charge.  Water sports are available in the summer season and usually included: Sail boat tours (Beneteau First Class 8), Jet Ski, Catamaran (lessons and rental), Windsurf (lessons and rental), Water-ski (lessons and rental), Wakeboard (lessons and rental), Ringo Ride, Banana Ride, Pedal boat, Kayak, Body board (lessons and rental) and Surf (lessons and rental).

Golf:  Perched 200 feet above the golden sands and blue water of the Atlantic Ocean lies the immaculate Pine Cliffs Golf Course.

Tennis:  Pine Cliffs Resort has both hard court and clay court tennis courts (floodlit). Qualified professionals are available for tennis lessons for guests of all ages and levels of play.  The Pine Cliffs Tennis Academy offers a winning combination of on-court coaching led by an enthusiastic team of qualified and experienced tennis professionals. They believe in good basic fundamentals that will help Beginner to Intermediate students take their games to the next level. They also offer the latest in innovative coaching methods and training techniques for the more advanced players.
