When to travel
With warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. The peak season runs from December through to April with an average of 9 hours sunshine per day. This is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months with an increase in rainfall and humidity as the summer season goes on, however the summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. September and October are usually the wettest months with the most humidity and these are also the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region. The average daily temperatures range from approx. 25C in the winter to approx. 28C in the summer.
There is also a wide range of events that take place at Round Hill and in nearby Montego Bay and across Jamaica.
January to Easter - Bacchanal-Jamaica Carnival takes place in Kingston.
February - Sugar Cane Ball (annual fundraising event for Hanover Charities) is held annually at Round Hill; Jamaica’s Fat Tyre seven day mountain biking event takes place in Ocho Rios.
March - Paradise Lost Spring Break music festival, Ocho Rios.
July - Reggae Sumfest - Jamaica’s premier summer music festival is a week long event showcasing the best Jamaican artistes and international acts with parties, concerts and dances in Montego Bay.
